Today, we mourn the passing of Frank Campitelli, owner of Baltimore Masonry. Frank passed on March 1st, 2022 and the Baltimore bricklaying community lost an exemplary leader.
Originally known as Vincent Campitelli & Sons, Baltimore Masonry was a family business in every sense of the word. Frank grew up around brick masons his whole life, and when it came time for him to take over the company, he never lost touch with what the profession meant to his family and his employees. Former employees regard the company and their colleagues as family, and it all stemmed from Frank’s time and investment he would put towards securing the success of his workers above all else.
Known to frequently make personal sacrifices for the sake of his employees Frank never hesitated to guarantee that his workers knew where and when their next paycheck would come. Working well past the time he could have retired, Frank prioritized keeping his employees’ futures and financials secure.
Some notable projects that Baltimore Masonry worked on are the former Baltimore Sun Headquarters, Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium and the Mount Clare Station and Shops. These projects are remarkable representations of brick construction and provided years of work to the employees of Baltimore Masonry.
Frank, we cannot thank you enough for your service as a former signatory contractor and we are certain your legacy and lead-by-example mentality will live on for years to come.
