Q. What are the requirements to join BAC Local 1 of MD, VA & DC’s apprenticeship program?

A. To join our apprenticeship program, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and be physically able to consistently lift 40 pounds or more.


Q. How much does the apprenticeship program cost / is it paid training?

A. Although our apprenticeship program is not paid it is free to attend. 


Q. Is there an age requirement?

A. Yes, you must be 18 years or older to join our apprenticeship program.


Q. Where is the training facility?

A. Our training facility is located at the International Masonry Institute (IMI) in Bowie, MD. 



Q. How long is the apprenticeship program?

A. The apprenticeship program is 3 years long; classes are every other Saturday unless specified otherwise. 


Q. Will I receive a certificate?

A. Yes, upon graduating from our apprenticeship program you will receive an accredited certificate verifying your skills. 


Q. What is the beginning pay rate?

A. Pay rate differs depending on which field is your trade of choice, once you reach out to us we will be able to provide a more in-depth answer.
